Volunteer Opportunities in ARCHELON

For more than thirty years ARCHELON, the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece, has been conducting conservation projects on the major nesting grounds of the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) in Greece. The activities mainly involve sea turtle and nest protection, habitat management, rehabilitation, public awareness and environmental education.

Volunteers work in the main nesting and foraging areas of sea turtles (Zakynthos, Peloponnese, Crete Amvrakikos Bay)) and the Sea Turtle Rescue Center in Athens. Every year more than 500 volunteers are coming from all over the world to participate in our projects.

Since the success of our work relies mainly on the participation of volunteers we would greatly appreciate if you would be a partner in our efforts to continue saving the sea turtles of the Mediterranean. Therefore we would really appreciate if you publish the attached announcement in your newsletter, magazine or add it in your announcement board and/or website.

Further information on all of our projects and instructions on how to participate can be found on our website, http://www.archelon.gr

Your help will be much appreciated.
